HOW DO I ADD OR EDIT A PLAYER TO A REGISTERED TEAM?
You are not able to edit your registration yourself. Any changes you want to make (including adding a player, changing a player, or changing shirt sizes) needs to be done by sending us the information. Please make sure to include WHICH LEAGUE, TEAM NAME, TEAM ID IF KNOWN, PRIMARY CONTACT along with the edits you are requesting and send to email@example.com
WHERE IS THE REQUIRED LIABILITY WAIVER?
At the bottom of the League/Tournament page, there is a document titled "Liability Waiver". Please print and complete this so it is ready to turn in on the first night. We will have extra copies on site as well. This waiver needs to be completed by each player on the team before participating (sub players also need to complete it). All the players can go on the same form or we can staple them together if each player completes it individually.
WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?
Refunds will be issued if requested via email prior to the registration deadline and will be reduced by a $10 administrative fee. Refunds will also be reduced $7 per t-shirt (if ordered). No refunds will be issued after the registration closes.
WHAT IS THE LEAGUE FORMAT LIKE?
Typically, each team will play two games per day/evening. Games will usually be 20 minutes running time and played on a half court. Games will be scored by a court monitor. Typically there is music playing and concessions available. We try to build the schedule so your team plays its two games within an hour and half or less.
HOW DO I MAKE SURE I GET TO PLAY ON THE SAME TEAM AS MY FRIENDS?
You will need to register as a TEAM. You must have a minimum of 3 players and can have a maximum of 6 players. One player on your team will complete the on-line registration form. This person will be the Primary Contact for the team. They must have an email address. Be prepared to enter roster information for each player (shirt size, grade, name, phone number, & email address) and to pay the complete team fee.
WHICH DIVISION DO WE REGISTER FOR?
Boys and girls divisions will be organized by graduation year. Read the registration information carefully to be sure to select the correct division. Teams can certainly register to play in an older division if they feel the competition would be more appropriate. Keep in mind that many players in this league are not "A" level traveling basketball players. If your team is made up of players of varying grade levels, it is recommended that you sign up for the division that your oldest player qualifies for. (If your oldest player is rather inexperienced, you may sign up for the level of the younger player(s). One of our concerns with this is the different sizes of players and we want to keep safety in mind.) We try our best to place teams in divisions with appropriate competition. Much of it depends on you selecting the right division. We will watch scores and try to have teams play other teams at their level.
WHAT IF WE HAVE SCHEDULE CONFLICTS?
When completing your online registration, please indicate any schedule conflicts you are aware of in the "Schedule Conflicts” field (i.e. no games before 8pm on 5/10, entire team gone to camp on 5/17, etc.) Please be as specific as possible. We will do our best to meet these scheduling requests. Please understand that it isn't always possible.
Up to two weeks prior to the league starting, you can also submit schedule conflict information. If you did not get it in your online registration, you can e-mail this information to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please provide which league you are in, and your team name and/or ID. This should only be done by the Primary Contact of the team.
ONCE THE SCHEDULE IS POSTED, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ALTER IT IF YOU HAVE CONFLICTS. BE SURE TO GET YOUR REQUEST IN PRIOR TO THE SCHEDULE BEING POSTED!
WHAT CONSTITUTES A FORFEIT?
Teams should make every attempt to have at least three registered players present for each game. Other teams don't appreciate showing up without an opponent to play. If you are playing with a non-registered player, you must notify your ref. The opposing team will record the win, though the game will still be played, refereed and scored. If the opposing team does not show up with enough players, the staff will try to find another team to play your team. If a substitute team can't be found, the team that is present has rights to use the basket and court space during that slotted game time.
If a team is waiting for a third player to arrive, the game will begin as 3 on 2. If the playing situation is 3 on 1, the game is not played and a win is recorded after five minutes.
WHAT ARE THE PHILOSOPHY AND RULES OF MIDWEST 3 ON 3?
This document is available to view below. It will also be available on the first league date when your team picks up their shirts since various sites may have slightly different rules.
CAN WE HAVE A COACH?
No. This league is NOT intended to have teams being coached. Parents may help with substitutions or rule explanation for beginning players, but should refrain from "coaching". The uniqueness of this league is that kids are allowed to run their own team. If obvious coaching is being done during the games, it should be brought to the attention of the site director.
HOW DO WE FIND OUR SCHEDULE?
Schedules will be posted on the league's page. We typically post schedules for one or two weeks at a time. This allows us to monitor game scores and make sure teams are playing the most appropriate competition possible.
HOW DO WE KNOW OUR STANDING IN OUR DIVISION?
We do not give awards to division winners. Instead, we try to match teams to the most appropriate competition. Teams who wish to play 3 on 3 in a format where the winners receive recognition should sign up for our one-day tournaments.
WHAT LEAGUES OR TOURNAMENTS ARE AVAILABLE?
Use our league links at the top to search for leagues and tournaments in your area. You will find information on location of, cost of and dates for various upcoming events. Make sure to sign up for our newsletter. We will send out email reminders for upcoming events.
